Dreamlogic: Paradiso Girls – hot and Unpredictable Posted by: ricardo | Comments (0) | In: Articles

When are they going to officially release the Paradiso Girls‘ ‘Unpredictable’ track?

Last year I was hooked on their song snippet from MTV’s The City and just needed to find out more.

I loved the initial idea of the Paradiso Girls: bring babes from/representing different countries together —  Shar Mae Amor (Philippines), Chelsea Korka (US), Aria Crescendo (France), Kelly Beckett (Barbados), Lauren Bennett (UK). I was thrilled when I found out that one of the members is the impossibly cute Chelsea Korka from the Next Pussycat Doll show — you know, the scapegoat underdog you couldn’t help but root for. Then I found out she dated Shia LeBeouf, which is kind of a turn off, but okay.

Then I listened to a few of their songs. Me likey. Sheer pop B-list bliss. Then I took a closer look, er, listen to the lyrics. The genius of the Paradiso Girls is making hot girls sing/rap about what stereotypical hot girls do: go clubbing and know that they’re hot. It becomes satirical, whether they are aware of it or not, and heightens their sense of humor and ironically, their humility. For me anyways.

Did they just say “I’ll make you throw up”? Sure did.

Aria – The Bottomline Interview Posted by: Evandro Swarra | Comments (2) | In: Articles

interview

How did you find each other? How did the group form?
-Jimmy Lovine, the head of Interscope, found me at a show in Paris and decided to build a group around me. We went to London with will.i.am and Robin Antin and auditioned 500 girls … from there we found Lauren, Shar and Kelly. Then auditioned 200 more girls in L.A., but didn’t find anyone. So Robin Antin suggested Chelsea and she fit in perfectly.

Using one word, describe the personalities of each member of the group.
-Aria: unique
Chelsea: cute
Kelly: fashionable
Lauren: funny
Shar: sexy

Explain the origin of the group’s name, Paradiso Girls.
-The name came from a musical venue in Amsterdam called Paradiso. We were supposed to be called “Crazy Horse” after the cabaret in Paris, but couldn’t have the same name so we went with Paradiso Girls.

Who’s the leader of this pack?
-Well, the group was built around me but we have no leader. We all bring something different to the group. Lauren, Chelsea and I are the three singers. Shar is a rapper and Kelly is a DJ

Your music is described as an “edgy, left-of-center mix of pop, rock, R&Band hip\-hop.” Expand on “left of center” and give an example of an artist who might be considered ‘right-of-center”?
-Haha … that’s funny I think we’re “right on center.” We just bring a different style of music.

What will you be bringing to the girls of The Dinah? What can they expect from your performance?
-PARTY TIME! A lot of fun and party all night

Anyone in the group ever been to Dinah just as a participant, apart from the band?
-No … It is the first time for all of us. Can’t wait.

How important was it to actually live together in achieving cohesiveness?
-Well, it wasn’t that important but it was cool. Now we know each other so well and we never really fight

Who’s the messy one, the Oscar of the group?
-We don’t live together anymore, but in the tour bus there is a different story.

Who’s the Felix, or the neat-freak?
-None of us are neat freaks. I don’t think so, or maybe some days.

What’s the difference performing for an almost exclusively all-girl audience versus a mixed audience?
-We performed before for a female audience so let’s see who’s the best. They better go crazy for us! hahahaha

Are you flirts?
-We all have partners. But on stage it is different … you play a character.

What or who serves as your inspiration?
-I’m talking for myself—Madonna. All of us have different inspirations; it’s what makes the group unique. And with all the different cultures.

What’s the most challenging thing about being in an all-girl group?
-The most challenging for me is to find the same work rhythm and go in the same direction.

The most rewarding?
-We have so much fun together on stage—its so much better than being by yourself.

THE CS Perspective talks about ‘DOWN’ + Listen to it Posted by: ricardo | Comments (1) | In: Articles

It has always been hard for us to swallow anything from The Pussycat Dolls so of course every other girl group associated with Robin Antin would be ignored. That may change after The Paradiso Girls’ newly leaked “Down” hit the net today.

The song is produced by Fernando Garibay who’s produced Paris Hilton’s “Stars Are Blind” and Lady GaGa’s “Dance In the Dark.” Once again, Proph describes a song in a way that we 100% agree with:

The Fernando Garibay produced track is a big melding pot of bubblegum pop, R&B, doo-wop, dance and even a few little Christmas jingles that sound like they fell off the back of Santa’s sleigh. To further add to it’s brilliance “Down” shows a little innovation by throwing in some unexpected synths right at the end of the song, switching everything up at the eleventh hour.

Like we’ve stated before, Pop music is 80% production and it’s crazy how one song can actually make a person go and listen to an artist’s music catalogue. What makes this song so great is there are new elements being thrown in, right up until the end. We itching for the HQ of this song to leak, LISTEN!

PS: I just wanna make it clear that we are totally against free ilegal downloads, but we just provide you links so you can listen to the song. Enjoy :)

Aria – Troy Jensen Photoshoot Posted by: Evandro Swarra | Comments (0) | In: Articles, Photos

x1 MQ

Backstage x3 MQ

@itsTroyJensen I wanted to do something special for Easter this year and Aria Crescendo from the Paradiso Girls gave me the inspiration I needed. Aria embodied that very sweet, young, hip girl but with a little bit of an edge.
For this look I used products from Yves Saint Laurent. I first prepped Aria’s beautiful porcelain skin with a light moisturizer. Then added a sheer layer of liquid foundation, set with a translucent powder. I lightly dusted the apple of her cheeks with a pretty pale pink blush. I curled and coated her lashes and topped them off with black liquid eyeliner. I finished the look with a naughty deep red lip.

MakeUp

Aria was my naughty little bunny and she played the part very well. I had a lot of fun on the shoot and will be posting the rest of the images soon.

Chelsea Korka and The Paradiso Girls

Chelsea is a singer from Cooper City, Florida who competed in ‘The Search for the Next Pussycat Doll’. While she finished second on the show, she was promptly hired by Robin Antin to join a new pop / hip hop group called the Paradiso Girls. Chelsea held the title of Miss West Broward USA in 2007, is a self described nerd tomboy, and is of Hungarian descent. Today she is featured in Six Questions:

1) Who is your favorite Athlete?

I don’t really have one, but my favorite teams are the Lakers and Buffalo Bills. I also love surfing and skateboarding!

2) Who is your favorite Hottie?

Angelina Jolie

Chelsea Korka Fashion Inspiration Posted by: ricardo | Comments (0) | In: Articles

The fashion blog ‘My Life In The Process’ posted a fashion review of Chelsea Korka. Check out what they said:

“I have a new fashion idol. She’s more of a doll than an Idol, haha. Anyway, let’s cut to the chase. I like Chelsea Korka of Paradiso Girls. I like her fashion sense. Paradiso Girls is like a less trashy Pussycat Dolls group but Chelsea is not trashy at all. She’s very girly girly and I love what she wears even if they are dresses and skirts. Its’ so cute I want one!
